Every value that moves your glucose in one place, the patterns that come out of it, and a picture of the hours ahead that belongs to you alone. We started building it because someone we love needs it.
Glucose, insulin, meals, activity, sleep, cycle, stress, weather. Many things that move one curve, and nobody can hold them in their head at once. syncsulin puts them in perspective, gives them a concrete meaning, and works out what they do to your day. We are a small team, and type 1 runs in our own families. We have watched what a short night costs the next day, and we have counted carbohydrates at our own kitchen tables. That is why sleep, cycle and weather are on the list, not only glucose.
Every value, not only food
CGM and pump, pen and wearable, the phone in your pocket, the photo of your plate. Glucose and insulin, carbohydrates, steps and sport, sleep, cycle, stress, the weather outside. Everything that moves a curve belongs in the same record, and it belongs there by itself, not as homework at the end of a day that has already asked enough of you.
Patterns that are only yours
Averages help nobody. What counts is how your body answers a late dinner, a short night, a cold morning, the second week of a cycle. The more of your days the model sees, the sharper those answers become. They belong to you and to nobody else, because an average has never met you.
The hours ahead
What we are working towards is a personal forecast: your glucose over the coming hours, built from your own history instead of a population average. We develop it together with the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione at the University of Padua. This work is not part of the syncsulin app.
From forecast to guidance
A forecast that holds up answers the next question too: what a dose, a snack or a walk would change, for this person on this day. Concrete guidance on insulin and carbohydrates is the goal we are building towards, and the reason the research runs alongside the app.
How we work
1. Data collection
With your consent, the app receives data from CGMs, pumps, pens, wearables, the smartphone and meal photos: glucose and insulin, carbohydrates, activity, sleep, menstrual cycle, weather and location.
2. Data analysis
The syncsulin algorithm reads all of it together and learns each person’s own patterns, refining them as more days come in. How insulin, glucose, activity, sleep and food interact is different for everyone.
From those patterns comes the part we are building: your glucose over the coming hours, and with it clear guidance on insulin, carbohydrates and activity. That is our research goal. It is not yet a function of today’s app.
3. Forecast
Backed & partnered
We are financially backed by private investors and financing partners, which allow us to independently develop our models with internal machine-learning specialists and in research cooperation with the Università di Padova.
We are still a small start-up, and the funds are limited. Every euro we spend is a decision about what gets built now and what has to wait. As founders, we take no salary, and everything that comes in goes into development.
